Family Tree Platform

Many families struggle to preserve their heritage and stay connected across generations.
Existing genealogy tools are either too complex, focused only on historical data, or lack modern features for active engagement. Families often use scattered solutions, social media for updates, spreadsheets for family data, and offline notes for memories making it difficult to maintain one unified family record. There was a clear need for a secure, user-friendly platform that combines genealogy with communication and collaboration.

We conducted market research and interviews with families across multiple countries to understand their needs. During this phase, we discovered that most families wanted a simple yet engaging way to:

• Build interactive family trees


• Share memories and updates in a private space


• Collaborate with relatives across borders


• Keep family history alive for future generations

Based on these insights, our team created over 200+ pages of documentation, mapped user flows, and designed a UX/UI that balances simplicity with rich functionality.

We developed a full-featured Family Tree platform from scratch, with both backend and frontend tailored for scalability and privacy. Key features included:

• Interactive Tree Builder – Add relatives, relationships, and details in a visually appealing way.


• Private Social Network – Chat, share updates, and post family memories.


• Collaborative Editing – Allow multiple family members to contribute to the same tree.


• Media Sharing – Upload and share photos, videos, and stories tied to family members.


• Privacy Controls – Secure environment where families own their data.

The platform was built using Node.js, React.js, Next.js and a monolithic architecture, ensuring strong performance and reliability.
